Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) is located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, having several engineering departments such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The eligibility criteria for obtaining the admission in Btech is that the candidate should have at least 50 percent in the PCB groups in class 12th exams such as CBSE or any other state boards. It also has I getting admission based on scores in exams such as JEE Mains paper 1, UPSEE, GATE and direct admission for diploma holders.

GCET Greater Noida: Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology is a college in Greater Noida which provides B Tech and M Tech engineering degree in different streams. GCET admission eligibility criteria is as follows: The candidates who want to apply for GCET can apply either online or offline. The application to the course can be done online and it takes a short time to complete the process. To apply for the programme, candidates are required to go through the link www.galgotiasuniversity.edu.in and click on ‘Admissions’. They need to register an account and then complete the online application form, attach required documents and application fee. In this case, candidates must visit the college admission office either personally or write to the college to request for the admission form.
Original copies of the completed application forms and attested photocopies of their qualifying examination marks statements, photographs and other documents can be handed to the admission office before the stipulated time. It is up to merit where merit is decided by the 12th board examination result to decide on the admission process. The respective candidates shortlisted for the position will receive an email or call from the organization.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
- Entrance is done through merit and this is through the GCET which is organized by Galgotias University. The test is a computerized one and contains questions that are 150 in number and are to be solved in 150 minutes.
- Sample questions are in physics, Chemistry and Mathematics according to class 12 curriculum. Every correct option receives 1 mark, but there are no penalties for getting a wrong answer.
- According to the GCET scores and preferences candidates will be allotted different branches of B.Tech through counselling sessions. It would be pertinent to mention on this front that there are several counseling sessions to earmark seats for candidates willing to secure a place.
- Results of GCET along with some other tests like class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination results are taken into consideration at the time of counseling and seat allocation. This is subject to the minimum aggregate criteria as applicable.
- This is because there are high probabilities of students with top ranks in GCET securing their first preference/preferred branch. Lower ranks may be provided with lowest preference depending on the availability of resources.
- There are special seats to be occupied by people of different categories such as ST/SC/OBC and many more according to government rules.
- The following are some of the processes whereby the final admission will be determined; The verification of documents, whether the candidate meets the admission requirements, payment of fees and vacancy available. The university would declare specific cutoff ranks for various branches after the rounds of counselling.
1. To apply, you should get the application form either from the GCET admissions or contact the institution to get one. The application form is normally obtained in May/June of every year.
2. Complete the application form accurately and proceed through its pages with great attention. Ensure that all the required documents in the form are filled include personal information, contact information, academic information, program applying for and others.
3. The applicants should ensure that they enclosed the necessary documents with the application form. This consists of – 10 th and 12 th Mark sheets and certificates, Category/caste certificate if any, etc., All documents must be self attested.
4. Enclose this application form duly filled and accompanied by the appropriate application fee payment. The fee can be remitted through online payment gateway or by DD.
5. Include all documents that are required when applying, if one is applying for the job online. If applying offline, then at the physical application form, use the stickers to attach the documents.
6. In order to use the acknowledgement slip or the application number in the future, it is advised to keep it safe.
7. Students should visit the college websites often to check for admission test dates, among other information. Sit for college exams as required and in line with the planned timetable.
8. In case you are shortlisted, attend the college counselling rounds along with all copies of the original documents.
1. The candidates can get admission through the state level engineering entrance examination UPSEE, they are selected on the basis of merit obtained in this test. As per the guidelines to be eligible for admission in any of the UPTU courses, the candidates must pass UPSEE first.
2. For admissions, GCET releases merit lists of candidates waiting for UPSEE rank list that will help the university to offer admissions to only deserving students. Counselling is conducted as several rounds to distribute the seats to the candidates.
3. The seats for state quota are filled and the preference for UP domicile candidates is given and the ranks of UPSEE are taken into account.
4. For outside UP candidates, if the seat is available under the all India quota then they are admitted as per their rank in UPSEE only.
5. The admissions are based on the percentile scores obtained in UPSEE, and the policy of reservation and quota shall be as per the rules of UP state. This involves issues such as setting of quotas in favor of girl child, students from the economically weaker section and so on.
6. There are also Management, NRI and Private quotas which are also offered with different fee structure and of course with different mode of admission based on the merit.
7. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements to sit for the B.Tech examination and should have passed class 10+2 or equivalent examination in any of the subjects to apply for GCET Greater Noida.
1. Registration: The first step is to visit the official website of GCET admissions and enrol yourself by providing your information. After the registration process you will be given a registration number.
2. Fill Application Form: To apply, you have to fill an online application form which is available on the website after you log in using the registration details. It is important to fill in all academic and personal data faithfully.
3. Upload Documents: Upload all the documents such as passport photo, signature, marks sheet of class 10th and 12th etc. as prescribed format and size.
4. Pay Application Fee: Online Method- Pay the application fees through credit/debit card, net banking or UPI. The fee amount is around Rs. 1200 for General/OBC candidates The payment options include both online as well as offline modes.
5. Print Confirmation Page: After completing the application form, they have to produce the confirmation page that is generated on completion of the process.
6. Entrance Exam: Take the university’s entrance exam that should be UPSEE most of the time. Of course, you have to make sure to secure the necessary rank/cutoff to be able to qualify for one.
7. Counselling & Admissions: Here’s your list: Go to the GCET counseling rounds at the given date and time. Undergo the document verification process and then enroll to the school by paying the fee for the first semester.
