Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata provides various undergraduate and postgraduate courses and courses in engineering, management, sciences and humanities streams. These include Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Electrical, Electronics & Mechanical, Civil & Structural, Chemical & Petroleum etc. The minimum qualification required for admissions in the most sought after course BTech is passing of Class 12th with minimum 50% marks in PCM for Engineering stream or PCB for Biotechnology stream is mandatory. Only WBJEE, JEE Main, and SAT are allowed as entrance examination scores. The MBA and PGDM programmes provide specializations in areas such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Operations, and International Business. Documents Required for Admission in HIT Kolkata for Different Courses:
- The admission process is strictly merit based where students are admitted based on the score obtained in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or JEE Main.
- The indices show that for admission through WBJEE, the candidate required a rank below 2000. Top 1900 ranks are fitted to the available number of seats according to the options selected by the candidates.
- For other candidates, the admission is done based on 10+2 marks and All India Rank secured in JEE Main examination. The eligibility criteria for candidates in JEE Main may differ from one year to the other depending with the number of vacancies available.
- In addition to the entrance test marks, the candidate has to qualify the entrance test along with other essential criteria like, passing in the class XII or equivalent examination with the minimum aggregate percentage of marks for the programs / category wise.
- For WBJEE and JEE Main qualification, the application procedures are different for both the examinations. Another major area that candidates must specify in the application forms is the branch and quotas preferences.

3. Follow the link and go to the admissions page - In the main page, go to the links and tabs section, click on the “Admissions” tab.
4. Select the B.Tech program - To get the admission details of this course, select “B.Tech” under undergraduate courses.

1. JEE Main Rank: All the candidates must possess a separate rank in the JEE Main examination for joining the B.Tech programs at HIT Kolkata. This is the current stage of shortlisting criteria.
2. Class 12th Percentage: The candidates need to have secured at least 60 percent marks in the Class 12 board exams (55 percentile for SC/ST candidates) along with a rank in JEE Main.
3. Entrance Test: For admission to many of the courses offered at the institute, it is mandatory for the students to have a certain rank in JEE Main, followed by an entrance exam. These students will be subjected to this test and their performance will be used to determine the final selection.
4. Personal Interview: Admitted students will have to go through a round of personal interviews after they pass the entrance test to get the final results.
5. Final Merit List: Therefore, final merit list is made for the admission against the total B.Tech seats in HIT Kolkata by considering the JEE Main rank, percentage in Class XII, entrance test and personal interview of the candidates.
