Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering (PCCOE) Pune is one of the prominent institutes in providing engineering education in the country which offers undergraduate courses in various streams of engineering. The Computer Engineering department has BE in Computer Engineering and it considers MHT-CET, JEE main, CET scores. The eligibility for this course is passing HSC or an equivalent exam along with having at least 50% aggregate marks in PCM subjects. The Mechanical Engineering department of this college provides BE in Mechanical Engineering Degree and Admission is based on MHT-CET, JEE Main and other national /state level Examinations. Eligibility is similar. Some of the other choice streams are Civil Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Automobile Engineering etc The minimum percentage and passing standard required for all the programs are HSC with a minimum of 50 percent in relevant subjects.
As for the undergraduate admission, PCCOE admits students once a year normally during the June and August period. Admission related dates for PCCOE 2024 – 25 are of Registration & Application May – June 2024, National/State exam in June 2024, Result out in July 2024. The admission rounds are held in July-Aug of 2024 for the candidates based on their national/state exam scores. It is merit-based selection criteria depending on the 12th marks as well as entrance test scores. They all operate through several cycles of admission (3-4 cycles) to fill the available vacancies. The available admission is in various discipline/ stream such as Computer engineering, IT, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical civil, automobile engineering and many more in the undergraduate BE/Btech course. - Admissions are made following the performance observed in the MAH-MCA-CET exam conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.
- To enter the eligibility criteria, one should possess a Bachelor’s degree in any stream in mathematics/business mathematics/statistics as one of the subjects with a minimum passing percentage of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
- It is worth to note that, there is no entrance test for the candidates belonging to M.C.A. course offered at PCCOE. Admission to the MBA programs is done by state counseling as per the student’s ranks obtained in the MAH-MCA-CET.
- Out of 100 seats total 85 seats are reserved for the candidates belonging to Maharashtra state and 15 seats are available for all India candidates.
- There are castes in state seats according to government rules and regulations of different categories.
- The MAH-MCA-CET score, the options exercised by the candidates during the counseling, the number of seats available in PCCOE and the like are taken into consideration while allotting the seats and candidates having higher CET scores are favored.
1. Check the eligibility criteria: For this selection process, you must possess a bachelor’s degree with mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 level or at the graduation level. You should have obtained at least 50% of the total marks in your graduation.
2. Apply online: From the official PCCOE website, search for the M.C.A admission notification. On the home page, there is an option to apply online; you should click there and enter all your details correctly.
3. Pay application fee: To apply online for this scholarship pay the application fee online by net banking through debit/ credit card as described on the portal. The money receipt should be retained for easy access at a later time.
4. Upload documents: It is important to scan and upload all the certificates and other testimonials as may be necessary. This includes Mark sheets of 10th and 12th class, Degree certificate, Caste certificate in case of SC/ST candidates etc.
5. Print confirmation page: Once the application is completed and fee paid online, it is recommended that you take a printed copy of the application and the receipt as your records.
6. Entrance exam: Take the entrance test conducted by the institute for admissions to MCA course offered by the PCCOE. This exam must be passed for admission; therefore, it is necessary to qualify for it.
7. Counselling: If your name appears on the list of shortlisted students, then you should attend the counselling session at the set date. Please take all your genuine documents. It means, if one is found eligible, then only a seat is provided to him or her.
- It is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, to control the admission through Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET). CET is different, they have to fill and submit a separate application form for CET.
- Selected aspirants in line with the CET scores are invited for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The process of the final merit list is as follows: CET, GD & PI are the selection parameters on which the candidate is evaluated.
- For CET, the candidate should have passed bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any university recognized by board with minimum 50% (45% for reserved category) marks.
- Yet, the final selection is done based on merit, the number of seats available, and the prevalent norms of reservation.
- However, apart from the CET scores, the candidate profile, written communication skills, work experience, GD & PI performances etc. are also taken into consideration during the selection.
- Additional 5% weightage is provided to the candidates with more than 02 years of post qualification working experience.
