Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT) is a premier engineering college situated in Pune, the largest city of the state of Maharashtra. VIT was set up in the year 1983 and is an integral part of Savitribai Phule Pune University, it has received ‘A’ grade accreditation from NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). In the NIRF ranking system in 2023, VIT has ranked at 65th place among all other engineering colleges in India. The institute develops and imparts under graduate and post graduate courses in all the discipline of engineering and technology with adequate facilities and infrastructures for the students.
The institute provide BTech disciplines in – Computer Engineering, Information Technology, electronics and telecommunication, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning among others. The first step in the admission process for the 2024 batch will be during April, 2023. Candidates are required to write MHT-CET or JEE Mains and then undergo for the counseling session for the seat reservation. The autumn semester examinations should be in the month of October and November in the year 2023 while the spring semester examinations should be conducted in the month of April and May in the year 2024.

1. The admission for the students in the BTech programs must have passed the 12th standard or any equivalent examination from any recognized board and must have taken Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their main subjects and must have secured at least 60% of the aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST) in their examination.
2. For MTech, candidates who have passed their BTech/BE examination and have secured minimum 60% marks (55% in case of SC/ST) in their respective specialization from a recognized Institute/ University are eligible. It is better if candidates have already appeared for the GATE examination.
3. For MBA, aspirants should have completed a bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognized University/Institution with not less than 50% percentage of marks. It is desirable to have prior work experience in the field of the proposed activity.
4. As for the PhD programs, candidates are required to have ME / MTech degree in the respective specialization with not less than 60% average marks. All the candidates should possess GATE qualification along with good academic background throughout their education.
