Named after the educationist, Sir Venkataramanda Ramjas, Ramjas College was established in 1917 and hence is one of the oldest colleges in Delhi University. It provides under graduate and post graduate programs in streams like humanities, commerce and science. Some of them are political Science department, English department, Economic department, Physics department, Mathematics department, Chemistry department, Botany department, Zoology department, Commerce and Management studies department. For being considered for undergraduate programs, the students must pass 10+2 examination and percentage requirement varies from 60% to 80% depending on the board of the student such as CBSE, ISC or state boards. There are some courses such as BSc (Hons) in departments like Physics, Chemistry, etc., which admit students not only on the basis of higher secondary examination but through JEE Mains also. - Applicants are hereby informed that admissions are now open in the B.Sc. Admission to Ramjas’ different courses and programs is determined by performance in the qualifying examination – Class 12 boards.
- For B.Sc. In most honours programs, the students are given admission based on the strengths they showed in the relevant subjects in class 12. For example, for B.Sc. In physics honors, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry as well as mathematics are taken into consideration.
- Admission procedure also includes passing percentage criteria where applicant must score a cutoff percentage of passing in their Class 12 boards for B.Sc. programs at Ramjas. This number is determined each year depending on the number of students applying for the degree, the number of openings available, etc.
- Besides the cutoff marks requirement, applicants are required to satisfy any other requirements as stated by the University of Delhi as and when applicable including age limit, subject combination etc.
- Fresh admissions are general category admissions where all the applicants are ranked on merit, the applicants with the best class XII scores, meeting eligibility criteria get admissions.
