Named after the educationist, Sir Venkataramanda Ramjas, Ramjas College was established in 1917 and hence is one of the oldest colleges in Delhi University. It provides under graduate and post graduate programs in streams like humanities, commerce and science. Some of them are political Science department, English department, Economic department, Physics department, Mathematics department, Chemistry department, Botany department, Zoology department, Commerce and Management studies department. For being considered for undergraduate programs, the students must pass 10+2 examination and percentage requirement varies from 60% to 80% depending on the board of the student such as CBSE, ISC or state boards. There are some courses such as BSc (Hons) in departments like Physics, Chemistry, etc., which admit students not only on the basis of higher secondary examination but through JEE Mains also. Other departments accept scores of HS, ISC, JEE Mains for general courses but for respective honours courses, the cutoff marks are high for the related subjects. Some of the well-known entrance tests which were accepted for admission to Ramjas humanities and social science courses include CLAT, CUCET etc.
For the academic year 2024, the courses offered will include the following ones – BA Program, B.Com Hons, BSc in Physical Science – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, BSc/BA Hons – Botany, Zoology, Political Science, Economics, English, BBA, and more. The rolling application process it is expected to start in March 2024. The candidates have to complete and submit a common application form of their preference through Delhi University admission website. It is expected that the general admittance procedure will involve cut-offs announced by the university across benefitted categories such as General, OBC, SC/ST. A typical 1st cut off is likely to be out by end of June. Passing HS or its equivalent with sufficient percentage and marks in the specific subjects/mentioned grades and fulfilling the cut off marks will make the student to get admitted to the selected college-course. The admission process entails basic steps as compared to other institutions as per document verification once a candidate crosses the cut-off.

- Applicants are hereby informed that admissions are now open in the B.Sc. Admission to Ramjas’ different courses and programs is determined by performance in the qualifying examination – Class 12 boards.
- For B.Sc. In most honours programs, the students are given admission based on the strengths they showed in the relevant subjects in class 12. For example, for B.Sc. In physics honors, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry as well as mathematics are taken into consideration.
- Admission procedure also includes passing percentage criteria where applicant must score a cutoff percentage of passing in their Class 12 boards for B.Sc. programs at Ramjas. This number is determined each year depending on the number of students applying for the degree, the number of openings available, etc.
- Besides the cutoff marks requirement, applicants are required to satisfy any other requirements as stated by the University of Delhi as and when applicable including age limit, subject combination etc.
- Fresh admissions are general category admissions where all the applicants are ranked on merit, the applicants with the best class XII scores, meeting eligibility criteria get admissions.
- In situation where marks are the same, some other considerations for instance subject marks may be used. Even if the competition is tough and many applicants have the same score, the applicant from the Delhi region might be given preference.

5. If applying under one of the reserved categories, attach the necessary certificate/documents.
6. Make the payments for the application fees online as well. In case the user wants to print the final submission confirmation page it should be done by now.
7. After submitting an application for admission, determine the admission cutoff lists. If you fit into the above requirements, then read further.
8. If necessary, go through your documents for verification at the allocated college as per the timetable.
9. If you get selected for the session, attend the counseling session when called upon. Fees payment is another way of confirming in an institution.
10. Bring all the documents that may be pending and get your college ID card which makes it the final process towards admission.
- While admitting the students, there is a policy of merit where the student is admitted based on the marks obtained in the class 12 examinations. There are cut-off marks for various programs and the marks differ according to various categories. This means that candidates have to be above the pre-set pass mark for them to be considered.
- In case of BA Honours programs, admission is strictly on merit based on marks scored by the candidates in the specific subject in class twelfth. For instance, for BA Hons English, those with good marks in English subject will be considered.
- For BA Program courses, admissions are allowed based on the aggregate marks secured for the best four subjects in the class 12 exams.
- Government also has reservations for certain categories such as SC/ST/OBC/EWS as per government norms. To get admission under the reserved categories, candidates have to attain lower cut-off percentages.
- There are also quotas for extra curricular activities and sports activities for persons who excel in non-academic achievements.

8. In case one is called for counselling session, one should attend it before the classes start.
