Ranchi Women’s College, Ranchi, Jharkhand came into existence with special patronization for women’s education and upliftment by providing them various under graduated and post graduated degree courses in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. Consequently, the eligibility criteria differ with the department of the university a course is offered in. The requirement for bachelor of arts is that the students should have cleared class 12th in any group from any recognized board with minimum 50% marks. Previous academic achievements including JAC, CBSE, or ICSE entrance tests are also admissible. The BSc programs entail pass in 12th standard with all aggregates of 60% in science stream from recognized board and acceptable qualifying exams are JAC CBSE and ICSE.
The postgraduate programs include MA, MSc and MCom in science, arts and commerce group with the different disciplines. Important entrance exam dates for admission in 2024 session are: JAC exam: April, 2023; CBSE exam: Feb/Mar, 2023; ICSE exam: Feb/Mar, 2023. Applicants are expected to follow these steps – Applying for admission in the month of May/June 2024 through college portal; Scanning and uploading the documents required such as 10th and 12th marksheets and scorecard of the qualifying examination; Taking the college entrance test if necessary; Ensuring that the applicant secures a seat in the college through the counselling sessions; Paying the fees for admission and confirming the admission. It is expected that the college will send a detailed admission notification in April 2024 on the website of the college.
