Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology Kolkata (MAKAUT) earlier founded as West Bengal University of Technology is a state level technical university biggest in size which adds more than 150 colleges associated with them. By 2024, the MAKAUT is expected to have over 200 colleges and institutions of higher learning which will offer programs in engineering technology, pharmacy, architecture, and management, possibly in all the streams.

1. Educational Qualification: Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as it's main subjects. Some programs give credit to diploma graduates who pass entry examinations.
2. Minimum Marks: In the open category, the least accumulative percentage of class 12th (or equivalent) exams is 60% grade. For reserved candidates also the cut off can be 55% or similar class average.
