VSSUT Burla is one of the leading public technical and research university situated in Burla, Odisha, which was established in the year 1996. It provides degrees at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the several fields of engineering and technology. The admission requirements for VSSUT B.Tech programmes in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Civil Engineering State level entrance examination for admission into degree courses or any other national level examination with at least 50% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. These are JEE Main, OJEE and Vice Chancellor’s cup which is conducted by VSSUT.
All the candidate who want to apply for M.Tech for all the engineering departments like Computer Science, Electrical, Production, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics & Instrumentation, Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics etc they should possess B.E/B.Tech in relevant branch with course wise minimum 60% of total marks. GATE qualified candidates have privileged over the other candidates in admission to M.Tech. Similar to the other master’s programs like MSc, MCA, Integrated MBA, and MBA, the very course also has certain eligibility criteria for the admission which includes the relevant bachelor’s degree only.

Documents Required for Admission in VSSUT Burla for Different Courses:
1. JEE Main Rank: Joining will be strictly on merit and as per the All India overall rank and category rank of the candidate in the JEE Main examination.
2. Class 12th Marks: A candidate must have completed 10+2 from a recognised board and should have scored more than 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) and the candidate should have Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects.
3. Entrance Test: For admission to the B.Tech. Programs, candidates are selected on the basis of their JEE Main ranks and they have to write an entrance examination conducted by the VSSUT. Their performance in this test will be taken into account/evaluation.
4. Academic Marks: As for the preparation of the merit list, 40% weightage will be given to the score of the candidates in JEE Main while 30% weightage will be given to the marks obtained in Class 12th and 30% weightage will be for marks obtained in VSSUT entrance test.
5. Seat Availability: Admission will be given according to merit list prepared as per above criteria on the accessibility of the seats in the discipline and category.

2. On the main page of the college’s website, move the cursor over “Admission” on the main menu at the top of the page, and then move the cursor over “B.Tech Admissions”.
3. There you will find an online application form; select ‘Apply Online’ to complete the online application form.
4. Ensure that you fill all the asked details about yourself, your academics and other related factors well
5. To do this, students have to upload scanned copies of documents such as photograph and signature, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets etc.
6. Pay the application fee online ($50) for fresh application or $25 for renewal of a previous application.

1. Those candidates who have appeared qualifying GATE examination will be preferred over those who do not possess the qualification.
2. For other candidates, the selection will be based on the marks obtained by the candidates as per the GATE norms along with marks secured in the qualifying bachelor’s degree. The GATE score will be used with 75% weightage and bachelor’s degree marks with 25% weightage.
3. In case the candidate has not appeared for GATE, then she/he will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in the final qualifying bachelor’s degree.
4. Unlike in the past where there was only one M.Sc merit list for the successful candidates, there will now be two lists; one for those who had GATE qualification and the other for those without GATE qualification.
5. In each of the merit lists, the top candidates would be considered for the seat offer before moving to the next candidate until all the seats are occupied.
6. If the two candidates have secured equal marks, then the matter will be decided on the basis of percentage marks obtained by the candidates in their respective Higher Secondary/12th examination or Secondary/10th examination as the case may be till the tie is resolved.
1. In the advertisement or at the university’s official website, one needs to look for the notification for M.Sc admissions. It is usually released in the months of May-June by the Ministry of Finance or Central Government.
2. Choose the course of your desired M.Sc program- M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc Also, look at the admission requirements.
3. Through Internet/connection- The university has provided an online application link for PG admissions. However, before we proceed any further, one would have to register in the portal first.
4. There are few additional data to fill in the application form: personal data, academic achievements, documents, etc Submit the application fee online.
5. Scanned copies of the documents required as per Notification to be uploaded- UG degree marksheets, transcript, Odisha domicile certificate etc.
6. After the submission once the application is complete the applicant can download and keep a printed copy for future use.
7. In case the candidate is shortlisted for the aforesaid tests, he/she shall have to sit for the PG entrance examination organized by the VSSUT s as per the following schedule.
