Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC) Ghaziabad has various departments which offer engineering courses. Computer Science: B.Tech in Computer Science & IT, Available through JEE Main Score/UPSEE/Uttar Pradesh State Rank/Other State Ranks in any entrance test for Engineering. The cutoff is clearing Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths having minimum marks of 60- 65% of total marks. At Electronics and Communication stream, Electronics and Communication department of the college provide B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering for the same exams with the basic eligibility of passing class 12th with minimum 60% marks in PCM. They offer B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with the admission criteria of JEE Main, UPSEE etc and the minimum passing percentage set on PCM in 12th exam is 60. B.Tech in Civil Engineering is provided by the Civil Engineering department and the entry is through the JEE Main Exam minimum 60% marks in 12th PCM. Other large departments are Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering etc. as have the similar requirements for admission.
The steps to be taken to obtain admission in engineering courses at AKGEC Ghaziabad for the 2024 academic session is to take the JEE Main or UPSEE examination conducted in the period January-May 2023. Taking into consideration the marks and merit list, the centralized counseling for the admission will be organized in the period June-July, 2023 where the candidates will be able to select the branch/college offering their preferred course through the process of choice filling and seat allotment. There are two methods through which a student can apply to Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College (AKGEC), Ghaziabad, and they are online and offline. For online application, they have to go the official website www.akgec.ac.in and navigate their way to the admission section. Choose your preferred course and then register in order to complete the application form. The application process is fully online, so it can be concluded by uploading scanned copies of the necessary documents – photo, signature, class 10 and 12 mark sheets, and make the payment of the application fee through credit/debit card or net banking.
For offline admission, get the application form from the college along with the admission form counter on payment of the necessary charges. Please complete the application form embedded below and submit certified copies of the documents. The filled-up application form along with DD should be attached and submitted at the counter or posted through speed post to the college address on or before the last date. The admission process is merit-based and follows counselling, with regards to qualifying entrance examinations such as JEE Main. There are more than 1000 seats for total intake for different BTech branches. Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
- These admission are only offered on the basis of the applicant’s performance in the Uttar Pradesh State entrance Examination ( UPSEE). This is done under the aegis of the Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Uttar Pradesh.
- UPSEE counseling is required for registration and selection of AKGEC Ghaziabad along with the preferred branch of B.Tech. The selected candidates are offered admission based on ranks obtained in UPSEE and choices entered by them for branches and available seats.
- The cut-offs for UPSEE rank and the corresponding admissions to B.Tech courses are usually high for certain branches such as Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology Electronics & Communication, etc. In other branches, even those with lower ranks can also get admitted into other branches of their chosen university.
- Candidates admitted directly for B.Tech can also be accommodated on the basis of their Joint Entrance Examination Main score. The criterion for this mode is that the candidate must have a least of 60 % aggregate in class XII.

3. Application Fee Payment- Click on the ‘Apply online’ tab from where the applicant is required to fill an online application form and pay application fee through credit card, debit card or net banking.
4. Print Application Form- Clip off the stub after the payment of the fees for the completed application form
5. Send Documents- Attach all the required documents along with the printed application form including, the academic and category certificates if any should be posted through speed/registered post.
- The entrance exam called the UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) is followed to admit students for the engineering course.
- To seek admission through UPSEE, candidates have to pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the class XII examination.
- UPSEE has its own rank cut off depending on the category for example general, OBC, SC, ST and so on. The candidate needs to score above the rank cut off of their particular category.
- The other mode of getting into the university is through the JEE Mains entrance examination as well as UPSEE. Regarding JEE, result cut-offs are declared for the candidates belonging to different categories.

2. Eligibility Criteria: Make sure the you qualify for the Admission Criteria as set by AKGEC. This also entails aspects like age, academic performance, etc.
3. Entrance Exams: For admission into the engineering courses you will have to take the engineering entrance examination such as UPSEE,JEE Main, etc.; details are available on the college website.
4. Document Submission: In case of online application, you have to complete the application form and upload the required documents through online before the stipulated date and time but in case of offline application the completed application form and other mandatory documents should reach the concerned office before the stipulated date and time. Documents contain mark sheets of 10th and 12th, entrance test score card, photos etc.
5. Counselling Process: In case you are selected then you are called for counselling rounds in order of rank obtained in entrance exam, choices of college and course, and availability of seat. The last and final round of admission will be decided on the basis of your status, counselling, medical fitness and fee structure.
