The college is an approved and recognised degree college and offers five degree college courses in different streams and disciplines under the affiliation of University of Rajasthan. There are subjects that students can choose when pursuing their Bachelors’ degrees which include Sciences, Commerce, Arts, and Social Sciences. Major courses that are offered include: BSc in physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany, zoology and so on; BA in economics, English literature, political science, sociology and so on; BCom in accounting and finance and so on. Examination for these programs take place in November and April of the same year. The admission process for the class of 2024 begins in June 2023. All the admissions are done through the portal and they also give chance based on merits.
Government Degree College has got a very good placement record with regard to students being selected to work in top firms and organizations. Companies such as IBM, Deloitte, ICICI Bank and Infosys regularly advertise the job openings and offer attractive salary packages of 4 – 8 Lakhs per annum for new graduates. The highest salary proposed was 16 LPA by a big IT services company. The placement rate for the graduates in 2022 was more than 80% in which graduates worked under the job titles such as Software Developers; Business Analysts; Banking Associates; and Research Assistants among others. This shows that the college has a high level of industry engagement and commitment to prepare students with skills in employable skills.
