The major streams offered to the students during the admission process for 2024 batch at IEC Ghaziabad are - BTech – Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. The dates for the entrance examinations for admission in these programs is as follows: JEE Mains examination in January and April 2024, UPTU examination in April- May 2024. UTME result scratch cards and other credentials are used to apply for admission, counseling is done as per UPSEE time table, choice and seat allocation. The classes are expected to start from 3rd week of July, provided one the admission schedule is released by the university. These are normal admission formalities which students have to fulfill by paying fees before the class commences to secure confirmed availability of their seats.
In order to submit their applications online they have to log on to the official website at www.iec.ac.in where they get the page for admissions. They have to register an account and then complete the application form which means that the students have to input some basic information about them, their academic performance, and their class preferences. Attached documents in scanned format are required to be uploaded as per the guidelines provided. In addition to this, there is the application fee which can only be paid online, through credit/debit card or net banking.
For offline admission, the candidates have to obtain the application form along with the information brochure from the college by depositing the required amount of fee. The original documents to be attached with signed and typed copy of the completed form along with the photocopies of the documents and application fee should be deposited within the stipulated time. This means that applications are closely looked at and lists are compiled depending on the recognized qualifications. Shortlisted candidates are then notified regarding document verification and the subsequent admission process as planned.

1. JEE Main Rank: One of the criteria that candidates need to meet in order to be admitted is having a valid rank in JEE Main examination. Admission priority will thus be given to the candidates who have attained higher ranks.
2. Class 12th Marks: The candidates must have secured 60% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in case of SC/ST category in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Percentage obtained in these subjects shall form part of computation for merit.
3. UPSEE Rank: Qualifying rank in UPSEE is also taken into consideration for admission in case, the candidate has not appeared in JEE Mains exam. Higher ranks get preference.
4. Academic Record: Minimum 90% marks in class 10 as well as having better academic performances than the below mentioned criteria. Academic performance is a measure of capability or also known as the academic merit of the candidate.
5. Entrance Test & Interview: In addition to the mentioned tests, college may set its own written admission test and personal interview for admission process. These will cause variations in performance, which will in turn affect the selection process.

The documents required at the time of application and counseling are as follows:
- Qualifying Degree: A candidate must possess a B.Tech/B. The List of Documents Required for B.Tech Admission are as follows:E. or its equivalent degree in relevant branch with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) Preferably 2 years experience in same field.
- Entrance Exams: A valid GATE score is also mandatory as per the norms decided by the respective department. Selection will be done in two stages; the first stage being based on GATE scores & marks obtained in the qualifying degree.
- Interview Performance: The short-listed candidates are required to come in for an interview in front of the selection committee. In the interview the main aspects covered include background knowledge, practical abilities, capacities and preferences.
- Work Experience: Those seeking to join the program are required to have prior working experience in industry or research, with extra consideration during the admission process.
