SDM College of Engineering and Technology Dharwad is one of the renowned private college which is approved by AICTE and affiliated to VTU. It has a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in its several faculties such as Engineering, Basic Sciences and Computer Applications, and Management. The eligibility criteria differ according to departments as the following details show. For Computer Science Engineering, Information Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering, candidates require, 12th or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics and one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational with 45% marks in aggregate for the reserved category (40% for SC/ST category). Accepted examinations are KCET, COMEDK, JEE Main etc The candidates seeking admission in Master of Computer Applications and Master of Business Administration courses should have passed the bachelor’s degree examination in the respective discipline from any recognized universities.
Currently, the B.E offered by the institute are in 7 distinct disciplines, whereas master degree programs include M.Tech with 8 specializations, MCA, and MBA. Students seeking admission to B.E programs for the 2024 batch must have to write the KCET 2023 exam that is scheduled in April-May 2023 or the COMEDK entrance test. This admission process includes registration, examination of entrance test, documentation, option entry, allotment and admission confirmation. Admission to M.Tech programme is on the basis of PGCET exam organized by KEA and then documents submission and centralized counseling. MCA offered at the university and the admission is done through PGCET scores and GD/PI process while MBA offered at the university and the admission is based on the KMAT scores and Group discussion and personal Interview and Counseling. The admission institute cell declares all the exams and admission schedule on its website and it is likely to be in Dec-Jan 2023 for 2024.

- The admission is provided according to the students’ performance on Karnataka CET (KCET). It is an entrance test held at state level and organized for admission to undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture and many other professional fields in Karnataka.
- The following requirements should be met by any applicant who wants to join SDMCET Dharwad: The applicant must be a Karnataka state resident and must have taken the KCET in the same year.
- The selection would be depended on your KCET score and the options for colleges/branches selected at the time of KCET counselling. It is important to note that the ranks are assigned based on the scores obtained during the examination and the preferences of the candidates.
- The General merit list, Outside Bengal cutoff list, SC, and ST candidates have different cutoff ranks for getting selected in different colleges/branches.
- However, in case of candidates securing the same rank in KCET, the inter-se merit criterion will be marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Maths, followed by age.
- Other than the KCET scores, candidates have to fulfill the standard norms of the university such as, passing in class 12th or any equivalent examination with the minimum required marks for eligibility.

9. The application fee for General category is 500 Rs while in the case of SC/ ST/ OBC candidates it is 250 Rs.
10. It must be noted that no alterations can be made after submission, so it is crucial to reread all the information in detail. Find SDMCET application before the due date and send it.
- Applicants should have passed Master Degree in the related field from any university with minimum 55% marks for General/OBC Category and 50% for SC/ST Category.
- Every candidate is required to sit for a written examination in which subjects of the discipline the candidate has applied will be tested. It is a measure of research skills, subject contents, and intelligence.
- In order to proceed to the next level, candidates are required to qualify the written examination, followed by an interview. The interview evaluates the candidate’s knowledge in the area of the job, the research interest and intelligence.
- Candidate shall be selected and offered appointment through a combined score of the written test and interview. More emphasis is provided to the knowledge of the related domain and research ability and capability of the candidate.
- The government have seats reserved for candidates from categories that are considered as reserved in the government.
- Some candidates are required to complete 6 months of coursework relevant to the proposed area of research before they are considered full-time doctorial students under a research supervisor.
- The learners are supposed to submit academic and research progress reports at predetermined intervals based on institutional regulations for continued Ph.D registration.
