Diploma in Performing Arts is an undergraduate diploma level program that takes 1 to 2 years to complete and is aimed at developing students’ artistic and technical abilities in a number of disciplines associated with performing arts such as dance, music, theatre. The duration of the Diploma course is normally one academic year for candidates joining the programme after 10+2 education system and two academic years for candidates who have completed 10 years of schooling.
To join the Diploma in Performing Arts course, one has to sit for examinations in aptitude in dancing, music or theater depending on the chosen program. Some institutes set their own entrance exams and some take performances of tests like – The ICAT exam, GITA Test, or the Trinity College London performance art’s entrance exams and several other national/ state level test scores as their criteria for selection.

1. The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from any stream from a recognized education board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
2. For reserved category students the percentage of marks obtained in the 10+2 examination should not be less than 45 percent.
3. There is no age restriction provided; however, candidates who are below 17 years are required to seek parental consent at the time of enrollment.
