Asutosh College Kolkata provides various courses in different fields in the form of undergraduation and post gradutation in science, art and commerce streams. The eligibility criteria is not same in each departments. Admission criteria for BSc honors in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science: Higher secondary examination in science stream with a minimum of 60% average. For a BA honors in subjects such as Economic, English, Political Science one needs to score 55% in higher secondary examination. For BCom honors, one requires 55% aggregate in higher secondary, the student must have maths or accounts as a subject. Admission to the college is offered through the basis of qualifying examinations such as WBCHSE, CBSE, ICSE.
The college provides degree level Programme of study like B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry Maths, Computers, BOTANY, Microbiology, B.A in Bengali, English, Political science, History, Philosophy. It also provides BCom general and honors.The university also offers Bachelor of Commerce in general and honors. Postgraduate courses are M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and M.A. in Bengali, English, Political Science etc. The examination sessions are in November for Part 1, March for Part II exams and June for Part III exams. The admission process begins during June each year and it is done online on the College website. Students have to register themselves for the particular course, to fill the application form and write the written tests/interviews as required for the screening and selection of the students for different departments is based on the availability of the seats, academic performance and merit and overall written test/Interview performance. The admission list is released in August for the new academic session in the July/August 2024.
To fill online, the candidates need to visit the Asutosh College official website, i.e. asutoshcollege.ac.in. To register for admission, first go to the home page and click on the ‘Online Admission’ option, then sign up for an account. Other information that must be entered on the online form include personal data, education history, and scanned copies of the documents. Pay the online fee through credit/debit card, net banking or through the united payment interface. Save and retain a copy of the filled online application form duly bearing the payment details for further use.
For offline admission application, the application form and the prospects of the college are available at the college premises at 92, S.P. Mukherjee Road, Hazra, Kolkata. Complete the form with a pen in legible writing and ensure the writing is neat, legible, and clear. Enclose photocopies of all documents to be verified, duly attested. Ensure that you fill the application form correctly and then attach the application fee (in form of a DD or Pay Order) to the college’s administrative or admission office before the last day indicated. - One can get admitted based on performance despite having no tuition fees to be paid. Students can join the programme directly from their school, and they are chosen on the basis of their performance in the final higher secondary exams conducted at the 10+2 level.
