CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) is a private engineering college in Bangalore, Karnataka and it functions autonomously. CMRIT was set up in the year 2000-01 and has been approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. It has recognition from International Organisation for Standardisation as an ISO 9001:2015 institution besides getting the ‘A’ Grade of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with 3.31 CGPA on a four point scale. According to NIRF Rankings 2023 released by the Government of India CMRIT has secured 75th rank in the Engineering stream.
CMRIT is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad and offers undergraduate and post graduate courses in Engineering and Technology in the specialization of Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication etc. After the KCET/COMEDK exam to be held in April/May 2023 the admission process for the 2024 batch will start. The Karnataka common entrance test (KCET) or the common entrance examination for lateral entry to the second year of engineering (COMED-K) are used to select students, and the seats are allocated through centralized counselling held by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). The institute also takes into account the scores obtained in national level entrace examination like JEE Main. The academic session will be started from August, 2023.

1. The candidate must have passed the 10 + 2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (55% marks for the SC/ST candidates).
2. JEE Main or any entrance examination conducted by the CMRIT for the admission of different B.Tech courses to be offered should have valid score of the applicants.
3. For B.Arch program, the candidate must have completed their 10+2 level education with Mathematics as one of the subjects and should have taken and cleared the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture).
4. There is no specific criterion when it comes to admission into M.Tech programs, but prospective students must possess a B.E/B.Tech degree in respective specialization with no less than 60% marks (aggregate) for general category candidates and at least 55% for SC/ST candidates. Preferential hiring is done for those candidates who have qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE).
5. A candidate seeking admission for MBA program should have passed the Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks for open category candidates and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates from any University recognized by the University Grants Commission or any other equivalent statutory body. Masters in Business Administration: The desirable traits include: CAT/MAT scores are required at the entrance level.

2. With regard to campus recruitments, placements of students in 2022 revealed that more than 85% of the eligible students were placed.
3. Some of the leading corporate of the industry which were the major recruiters were Infosys, Wipro, cognizant, accenture, etc.
4. The maximum salary package given was Rs. 2200000 per annum offered by Microsoft.
5. The salary package offered at the campus across branches was about Rs.60000 to Rs. 65000/- per annum and there were good opportunities for the passed out students.
6. Other leading corporate which take part in placements are TCS, Capgemini, L&T, Bosch, Dell and so on.
