Gargi College is one of the famous women’s college of New Delhi in India. It was set up in 1967 and is affiliated to the University of Delhi. The college has been granted Grade A by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). As per NIRF ranking for colleges announced in 2023, Gargi College stands at 9th position in the country.
The college provides option for undergraduate courses in humanities science, social science and commerce stream. To name a few of the most sought after courses offered by the institute are B.A Honours in English, Political Science, Economics; B.Sc Honours in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and B.Com Honours. There is no entry fee for these course and the students get admission on the basis of their scores in class 12 board examinations. The cut-offs are generally high mostly because of high demand in most cases. Gargi College Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Bachelors in Arts/Commerce/Science: Generally, it is 50% aggregate in the standard XII examination conducted by any recognized board of education. This means that the students from CBSE/ICSE need 57% and 52 % in the best four subjects respectively.
2. Bachelors in Elementary Education: He/She should have passed in the Class 12 with minimum of 45 % and the candidate should have secured at least 50% in the concerned subject from a recognized board. No age limit.
3. Masters in Arts/Commerce: Possess academic qualification of Graduation in relevant stream with minimum 45% aggregate from any recognized university. BA English requires 55%.
4. Masters in Science: Graduation in the related subject with minimum of 45% average mark in math/chemistry/zoo group. For other subjects, minimum eligibility may vary, which naturally depends on the given criteria.
5. MPhil/PhD: Graduation in related field with minimum 55% of the total marks from a recognized university as per UGC guidelines and post graduation in a related field. Some programs may include a qualifying examination as part of the requirements for completion of the degree.

The college provides the student with the BA Honours in subject areas including English, Hindi, History, Political Science, Psychology, Economics, Mathematics and Statistics among others. It also provides the BCom Honours in the field of Accounting and Finance. Science faculties provide academic training in Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Zoology at the honours level of BSc.
