The Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology or GRIET located in Hyderabad in the state of Telangana is a college offering several programs in the field of engineering. About this course, the Computer Science department provides B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and the entry requirements are: pass in 12th or diploma with mathematics. It also accepts EAMCET, JEE Mains, AP/TS Polycet examination. Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the departments that provides B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering which admits students based on EAMCET and JEE Mains score. The academic qualification needed for the job is 12th pass with mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects. The Information Technology department offers B.Tech, Information Technology through TS EAMCET/AP Polycet scores and 12th pass with mathematics as one of them eligibility. 1. Admission procedure is based on the ranks attained in the EAMCET (Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test) of the Government of Telangana. Unlike other engineering entrance examinations, the students have to apply for EAMCET separately.
2. Besides rating of EAMCET, 25% weight of the academic achievement of the candidate in his 10+2 (or any equivalent examination). The overall percentage of marks (average of marks scored in math, physics, and chemistry) is used for this classification.
3. The admissions to the seats are carried out in batches through centralized counseling conducted by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, on the basis of ranks obtained in EAMCET and percentages in 10+2 examinations.
4. Based on the ranks scored in the ECET (Engineering Common Entrance Test) for lateral admissions into the 2nd year of the B.Tech course. In conclusion, applicants possessing a diploma qualification may apply for employment through lateral entry.
5. But there are also few Management Quota seats and students who have passed 10+2 can directly apply for these seats in the college depending on merit. The process of selection will involve only the 10+2 marks only.

- The admissions are very much competitive and the qualifications for admission depend on the score obtained in the GATE examination by the candidates. Only the students having a valid GATE score can apply for a seat in the institution.
