Guru Nanak Institute of Technology is a private engineering college owned by the Guru Nanak Educational Trust and located in Kolkata, West Bengal. Founded in the year 2003, GNIT has been recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education and is an MAKAUT University-constituted College. The college has been accredited by NAAC and currently holds a B++ Grade which it received in 2022. It has recently secured its place in NIRF Rankings 2023 and stands at 125 among the top engineering colleges in India.
The institute provides Undergraduate B.Tech programmes in the five branches of Computer Science & Engineering Electronics & Communication Engineering Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Information Technology Mechanical Engineering. These are the semester systems and the curriculum of MAKAUT, and the programmes take four years to complete. Semesters exams are conducted in November-December & April-May every year for all classes. For the next B.Tech intake of 2024-2028, GNIT accepts WBJEE score. They also have to go through counselling session for admission, documents scrutiny and payment of fees. Classes for the new batch should commence from 3rd week of August 2024 for the schools or colleges.

Guru Nanak Institute of Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For candidates seeking admission in the BTech programmes, it is mandatory to have passed the 12th class examination with minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Few concessions which are provided by the government to the reserved category candidates.
2. For programs in MTech, the candidates must have a B.Tech/B.E. degree in the relevant branch of engineering with at least 60% of marks. It is admitted in the GATE examination for which preference in the admission is provided to the qualified candidates.
3. Candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 60% for MCA program, they also need to have a bachelor’s degree in any stream with Mathematics as one of the subjects. Mathematics is compulsory in 12th class The subjects mentioned above depend on the stream that a student has opted for.
4. Any graduate can apply for MBA program For MBA program, the qualification is any graduate. It is required to have minimum 60% in graduation for the candidates for consideration for an interview. Performance on the entrance test also remains one of the key parameters.
5. For BCA program any student who passed 12th standard in any stream with Mathematics as one subject is eligible. Minimum aggregate required for the aggregate percentage is 60% with concessions allowed as per rules.
