Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) is a private engineering college that was established in the year of 1995 and it is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It was set up in 2001 and is accredited by AICTE and officially recognised by MAKAUT. It has been accredited under NAAC Grade A which depicts the streamer quality and education facilities available in the institution. It is worth to mention that based on the NIRF Rankings released in the beginning of 2023, HIT has been ranked 151 among all engineering colleges in India.
HIT has various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the following faculties, Departments of Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering among others. These programs can be pursued only after passing the entrance tests conducted at state or national level such as WBJEE, JEE Main, etc. Many schools have their admission procedures in February each year, where they release the application forms and exam dates. For the 2024 admission session, the dates to be considered essential or important will be posted on the institute website by November 2023 while exam details that concern the particular session will also be posted on the same site.

1. For admission to all the B.Tech programs, the candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination which should consist of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects and should obtain at least 60% of marks in aggregate.
2. For MTech programs candidates should have a B.Tech./B.E degree in the relevant branch of engineering with not less than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA of a recognized University. GATE qualified candidates are always preferred for the jobs in public sector units.
3. For MCA program, one must have a bachelor’s degree in any stream from recognized university with minimum 50% marks and Mathematics either at 10+2 level or at graduate level.
4. For MBA program, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline of any University recognized by the University Grants Commission with minimum 50% marks. The other minimum requirements include the CAT/MAT score in case there is any entrance examination.
5. The requirements for PhD programs are: A master’s degree in any relevant engineering branch with first class or equivalent grade point average from a reputed university for ME / MTech candidates. GATE qualification is compulsory.
