R V College of Engineering in Bangalore is a premier private engineering college in India offering a wide range of streams such as Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Biotechnology and many more. The requirement that a candidate needed to meet in order to be considered for undergraduate programs include minimum of 50% in 10+2 Physics Chemistry & Mathematics and the student should have appeared for relevant exams such as KCET, JEE Main, COMEDK in order to secure admission to the engineering discipline of their choice. For instance, students who want to join the Computer Science engineering program must have passed KCET with the subjects of Physics, chemistry and Mathematics and obtained some pre-determined minimum percentage.
All the streams like Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology etc., conduct admission tests in the period of May to August 2023 and the important tests are as follows; KCET on 24/04/2023, JEE Main 21/04/2023, 28/04/2023, 24 The admission application forms for the 2023-24 academic session would be released soon while the counseling process is expected to begin in the last week of June ’23 In this process, RVCE will verify the documents of the candidates and place the candidates eligible for admission into the available seats in the engineering stream of the college as per the rank, score and performance in the entrance test.

For the BTech admissions students have to fulfill the criteria of having passed their 10+2 exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The admission in the college is strictly merit based and the marks obtained in the KCET, COMEDK and JEE Main entrance examinations conducted at the national or state level are taken into consideration. The applications can be made both online and offline before the last date mentioned above for each of the categories.

- It has also developed a policy of admitting students based on KCET performance, an entrance examination administered in the state of Karnataka. In order to be considered for admission, students must achieve the required KCET cut off marks as per the set by RVCE.
- In the case of admissions under the government quota, a student’s ranking in the KCET examination is taken mostly into account. It also indicates that 60% of schools’ seats are reserved under government quotas.
- For the management quota seats ( 40% seats) the college considers the KCET scores and may take additional test RVCE test and Interview before according admissions.
- Apart from the scores of KCET, the candidate’s marks in 10th and 12th standard, and performance in other entrance exams such as JEE Main may also be taken into consideration for admission to Management Quota.
- RVCE expects its general category students to score higher than the reserved SC/ST and OBC category students in order to be granted admission to their BE programs.
- Therefore, the supernumerary quota seats for children of alumni or employees are different from the normal seats because they have a different basis of admission.
