SCMS School of Engineering and Technology is an engineering college founded in 2000 at Karukutti – Alwaye, a region in the District of Ernakulam, Kerala. It was set up in the year 2004, is an APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University and accredited from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The college has achieved the NAAC Grade A certification from the University of Karnataka which makes it evident that the college provides quality education. According to the NIRF ranking system of the year 2023, the SCMS School of Engineering and Technology has found its place among the top 150 engineering colleges in India.
Category of programmes The institute provides education in undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in engineering and technology disciplines. The Bachelor of Technology is a degree that is provided in Computer science and information technology, Mechanical and civil engineering, Electronics and communication engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Artificial intelligence and machine learning and many others. Due to the semester system, major tests are held in December and May each year as per the academic schedule. The procedure of admission to various BTech programmes for the batch of 2024 will commence near about April 2023 and entrance examinations such as KEAM will be conducted. 1. Applicants must have completed their 10 + 2 or equivalent examination, with compulsory subjects as Physics, Mathematics, and must have taken one out of the following optional subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or Technical Vocational subject with minimum 60 % marks in the above mentioned main subjects.
2. For 10+2 examination appeared candidates also can apply with mark list to be deposited within the stipulated date.
3. The candidates should possess valid merit rank for the common entrance examinations like KEAM conducted by CEE of Kerala or JEE Main conducted by CBSE.
4. SC/ST category candidates are allowed if they pass in the qualifying examination and for SEBC category candidates, minimum 50% marks in addition to the passing marks in the qualifying examination is mandatory.
5. Handicapped aspirants shall also stand a chance to be admitted in line with the federal government guidelines on the same.
6. The candidates from NRI/PIO/OCI shall be eligible as per the rules and regulation framed by the central governing body and the institute from time to time.
The B.Tech programs are of four years and the fees may vary from rupees 1.25 lacs to 1.5 lacs per annum. M.Tech programs are of 2 years duration and cost of M.Tech programs are around 1.5 lakhs per year. The Ph.D programs take three years in completion of the program and semester fees are ?10,000.
