SDM College of Engineering and Technology is a self-financing college in Dharwad, Karnataka which is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and recognized by AICTE-New Delhi. It was set in the year 1979, and the NAAC has recently accredited it with ‘A’ grade in the year 2022. According to NIRF ranking 2023 SDM College of Engineering & Technology has been ranked at 139 among all the engineering colleges in India.
The institute provides undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering and technology like Computer Science Engineering, Information Science Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and Chemical Engineering Streams. 1. The candidates should have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics along with Chemistry and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects and anyone of the Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology as optional subject and the candidate should secure minimum 50% of marks in aggregate.
2. In case of B.Tech Programs, there is no restriction to the stream one has passed 10+2 examination from but Mathematics is mandatory as one of the subjects studied in 10+2.
3. Entrance exam/eligibility criteria for B.Arch program is set as 10+2 with Mathematics as compulsory subject and minimum 50% aggregate marks. Qualifying NATA score is also necessary One must have a qualifying score in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) to be qualified to pursue architecture.
4. Candidates holding a diploma can get direct second-year admission to B.Tech programs in case they have obtained an average of 50% in the diploma course.
5. For M.Tech programs, the candidates should have passed B.E/B.Tech from any recognized University in their respective field of specialization.Technology in the relevant specialization with 50% marks in aggregate of the degree. Candidates should possess GATE qualified scores.
6. Applicants for MBA program must be graduates in any discipline from a recognized institution or university. The final year students of Bachelor’s degree can also apply in a provisional basis if the candidate got minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
