Tiruvannamalai’s SKP Engineering College presently provides several engg programs in different fields of study. The computer science department has B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering degree course. The eligibility criteria for this course is that the candidate must have passed 12th or equivalent examination must have secured 50% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics. They can get admission in TNEA counseling or through SWEEP by their performance in JEE Main or any other national or state level engineering entrance test. The Electronics and Communication department also has B.Tech as one of the courses that they provide and the requirement for one to be admitted is the same as well as the admission tests accepted. Other B.Tech courses include Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering etc… to pursue this the students have to pass their 12th standard with PCM subjects and the cutoff percentage may be 45%-50% depending on the caste or category.
Currently the institute provides only full-time B.Tech degree courses over a period of four years for all the specializations. In accordance to the new guidelines for admission to 2024-28 batch, all the national and state level engineering entrance tests such as JEE Main, GATE, TANCET, etc., would be considered. The applications are always available online through the institute website and a removable portal starting January, 2024. Counselling rounds will occur in accordance with the merit ranks of entrance exams conducted in May and classes will start in August/September of 2024. It will cover admission process for the submission of documents, checking the eligibility criteria, payment of tuition fees and the number of seats available in the branch to which the student applied for the B.Tech section for the provisional seat allotment to the respective department.
