Sri Krishna College of Technology (SKCT) is a private college located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu; it is providing many B.Tech. programs in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical and Civil. The eligibility rules depend on departments. For Computer Science, IT and ECE streams, the students should have passed 12th exams with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and they should have scored minimum 50% marks in aggregate. For Electrical, Civil and Mechanical Engineering the candidate should have passed 12th with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with minimum 50 percent. SKCT also allows the candidates who have appeared for national level from examinations like JEE Main, TANCET and GATE scores for admission into various B.Tech programmes. Even the M.Tech and MBA programs also take the scores of CAT, MAT, XAT along with TANCET.
The courses provided by the SKCT include B.Tech Computer Science, B.Tech IT, B.Tech Electronics & Com, B.Tech Mechanical, B.Tech Civil and B.Tech EEE. All the courses offered are of a 4-year duration. The essential examination dates for admission to 2024 batch are–JEE Main examination will be conducted in the month of January and April 2024 TANCET examination will be held in the month May 2024 GATE examination will be held in February 2024 . After declaration of entrance scores, candidates will have to rush to the college website and register for counseling to get admission to the engineering branch of their choice at SKCT depending on their ranks, merit as well as availability of seats. The process includes; Admissions must be through issuance of documents, fees and charges and getting admitted before the start of the course.
The admission to SKCT Coimbatore begins every year in the month of May to June with the release of the notification and the admit cards. - Thus, candidates should have passed 10+2 examination or any equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
- The admission policy is merit based in the qualifying examination mostly the examination of 10+2. There may also be some seats for students on the basis of the TANCET examination conducted by the university.
- For the management quota seats may have more relaxed criteria for admissions but the fees are higher.
- As per the Tamil Nadu/central government rules, quotas for SC/ST, OBC and other category admission are also available. Seats are always set aside for particular percentage.
- It is also noted that each year has its own mark list for merit-based admissions and these marks depend on several factors such as the number of students applying for the college, the number of seats available etc. The college does not boast about having any fixed cutoffs.
- Besides academic requirements the candidates if not exempted may have to meet some other requirements that may be set by the DoTE, Tamil Nadu such as domicile, physical fitness among others.

- Common entrance tests – As mentioned earlier most of the ME colleges and universities accept the students on the basis of scores obtained in the national or state level tests such as GATE, TANCET. These primarily test the engineering skills and knowledge of subjects like maths, logical reasoning, and general awareness.
- B Tech/BE marks/CGPA – Your marks/CGPA that you secured during your undergraduate course is also considered while listing down the selection parameters. A majority of the colleges have percentage or CGPA criteria where a candidates must score a certain percentage or CGPA to qualify.
- Personal interview- As a part of the selection criterias, your performance in a personal interview that you make at the college also counts based on your score in written test.
- Internship – Another factor where some college takes weightage if you have any work experience after your BTech.
