St. Xavier’s College is one of the most famous autonomous colleges established in 1851 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is a private Jesuit minority institution which is recognized by University Grants Commission of India and has been graded ‘A++’ (on a scale of 4 with 3.68) by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). According to the newest NIRF rankings for the year 2023, St. Xavier’s College ranks 9th in the list of Best Colleges in India.
It provides courses in the field of arts, science and commerce at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The arts programs include namely Bachelor of Arts in economics, psychology, English literature among others. The science programs are offered as BSc in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Computer Science, and the like The commerce branch offers such specialty as BCom in Accounting and Finance, Banking and Insurance. The programs offered for postgraduate include: Masters of Arts (MA), Masters of Science (MSc), and Masters of Commerce (MCom). These programs have examination dates normally in the October and November months. It has a process of admission starting in May every year whereby students are required to sit for an examination.
