The Bhawanipur Education Society College is a collegiate institution that is situated in Kolkata, West Bengal. It was established in 1966 and is a part of the University of Calcutta The college is also recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC). This college has received an accreditation of B ++ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council in the year 2022. This performance is based on the NIRF Rankings 2023 that have recently been announced, the college was ranked 101 among other colleges in India.
The college teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in different fields under the faculties of Arts, Commerce & Science such as B Com (General/Honours), BA (General/Honours) in English, Bengali, Sanskrit, Political Science, BSc (General/Honours) in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Computer Science and Master by Coursework in certain subjects. The main criteria for admission are based on performance in the last examination sat for by the student. For some programmes, there shall be entrance test to this programmes as part of the entry requirements. UG admission test is expected to take place in May-June 2024 for all undergraduate programmes.
The college has had a very good record for placements for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered in the college. Currently, many big companies such as Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture, Byju’s, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and many others have hired the graduates of the college. The trend shows that more than 85% of students from various courses including BCom, BBA have been placed in reputed organizations through campus placements and the average salary packages offered to them ranged from Rs. 4- 6 Lakhs per annum.

Bhawanipur Education Society College has been very effective as far as placements are concerned. Some of the big companies which directly recruit final placement from campus include ICICI Bank, Deloitte, Ernst & Young and Infosys etc. The maximum salary offered in the placement for the academic year 2022-23 was Rs 180000 per annum which was offered by a financial sector firm. The salary offered varies from Rs. 4-6,000 per month and the gross emoluments per annum are also around Rs. 4-6 lakhs. About 80% of the students were successfully placed through the campus placement programmes organized in the college. The college sends requisition to more than 50 companies across sectors like banking, consulting ITES/IT and analytics for placement on the campus every year. The college has established a good industry relationship and is employment-oriented hence the goal is to get a 100 percent employment rate.
