VIIT is a Private engineering college in Visakhapatnam Andhra Pradesh that was established in 2007 and is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. VIIT, was founded in the year 1997 and is approved from AICTE & the university with which it is affiliated is JNTUK. This has been accredited with an ‘A+ ’Grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation council). In the released NIRF rankings for the year 2023, VIIT has been ranked 151 out of all Engineering colleges in India.
VIIT provides numerous programs and courses to the students at the undergraduate and postgraduate level in various fields and specialization of engineering and technology. These are Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. These programs are mainly for the students who have passed their 10+2 examinations and admission into these programs is done based on the rank secured in national or state level entrance tests such as JEE Mains, AP-EAMCET etc the admission process generally starts in the month of May every year. All entrance exams for the 2024 admissions may be sat for during April-May 2023 according to this table. It takes about two and half months to complete the results announcement by July after which there are counseling sessions as well as admission allotments up to August.

1. Therefore, to be eligible for the programme, candidates need to have passed their 10+2 or equivalent exam with minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (aggregate) for general category candidates and 55% for SC/ST candidates.
2. Candidates who were completed their diploma after 10th Standard with minimum 60% marks in aggregate for OPEN Category & 55% marks in aggregate for SC/ST Category are also eligible to apply for the B.Tech programs.
3. The eligibility criteria for M.Tech programs include B.E/B.Tech degree in the relevant stream for the respective M.Tech program.Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or Electronics or BCA with minimum 60% in aggregate for General category and 55% for SC/ST category. GATE qualification is preferable.
4. Candidates having graduate degree from any University recognized by an act of Parliament and having minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) can apply for MBA program. There are different rounds of shortlisting and all these candidates are selected after they have appeared for tests such as CAT/MAT/XAT.
5. For MCA program, candidate must have passed the 10+2+3 pattern, BCA/ BCS/ Bachelor degree having mathematics at 10+2 level or at graduation level. Minimum aggregate percentage required is 50% (45% for SC/ST).
The full-time B.Tech programs that are available at VIIT are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering all of which are four-year programmes. The fee structure for these programs is from one lakh twenty five thousand Indian rupees per annum to one lakh forty thousand Indian rupees per annum.
The MTech degrees offered for two years are in the fields as Thermal Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Digital electronics and Communication Systems, Power Electronics and Electrical Drives, Structural Engineering. These fees vary from INR 80,000 to INR 1 lakh per annum for the MTech programs offered in the state.

2. Some companies that have a recruitment policy for VIIT are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, and Tech Mahindra.
3. The maximum number of companies which visited VIIT for campus placement in year 2021 were 61 and the highest salary package given was Rs. 22 lakh per annum offered by Microsoft.
4. Placement of the students has been done effectively and the average salary package provided for the students in 2021 was Rs. 5.2 lakh per annum.
5. In summary, VIIT recorded more than 85 percent of placements for the 2021 pass out batch candidates and the highest offering package ranges from Rs 6 to 15 lakhs.
6. The institute has established good industry linkages and training facilities, which has led to a steady increase in placement statistics year after year and more institutions are being opened to cater for the increasing demand.
