Advanced Diploma in Home Science is a Professional two year course (four semesters) that covers subjects such as nutrition, textiles, human development, management, communication etc. The purpose of this course is to bring a deliberate and scientific orientation for home and family management within the household activities. In fact, every student gets an opportunity to learn many home related things, health, child, interior decoration, event management, designer wear, community development.
The entrance examination accepted for the admission to Advanced Diploma in Home Science courses include- 10 + 2 examination in any stream of the Central / State Board, Junior / Vocational diploma in home science/ food science/ Hotel Management. Some of the institute conduct their own written test as well as there is direct admission with through extra marks in 10 + 2 examination. Group discussion and interview test may also be conducted for few places during the admission process.

1. The candidate should have passed in 10+2 examination in any stream with more than 50% marks obtained from a recognized board.
2. Finally, candidates who have completed 10+2 in vocational course in Home Science stream are also eligible for the exams.
3. Any student who wants to join can register for the 10+2 exams and join the course provisionally but they must meet the requirements of the university later.
4. Age limitation for this course is not specified hence anyone who wants to apply for this course. There are no specific age limits for anyone to enroll in this course.
5. The candidates should have been through English as one of the subjects of the 10+2 examination to be admissible.
6. While admitting students to their academies some institutes may set and administer entrance exams while others admit candidates depending on their 10+2 results.

1. The important prerequisites that should check include the 10 passing certificate with science subjects or Bachelor’s degree from a recognized board or university.
2. : Find out which colleges or institutes offer the program and whether the candidate has to write an entrance exam to be admitted.
3. There are two ways that one can follow to apply for the colleges of their choice and they are before the application deadlines they are supposed to fill the application form and attach the relevant documents.
