Automobile Design is an undergraduate course in the field of design which is of a total of four-year duration and is offered under the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program. Some of these areas of specialization include: automobile design from the aesthetic and ergonomic perspective, automobile engineering basics, transportation design, modeling and simulation and, even prototyping. These, including conceptualization, sketching, three-dimensional modeling, rendering, and the basics of aesthetics are taught to enable the students to design unique automobiles and vehicles.
For admission in the automobile design program entrance tests of many national and university level design are recognized. Among them some of the popular and standard tests are – Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED), National Institute of Design test in two phases first is NID DAT prelims second is NID DAT mains, College of Art Delhi entrance exam, MIT Institute of Design entrance examination and Symbiosis Entrance Test for Design (SET Design.
