Human Centered Design is an undergraduate design course offered under the Bachelor of Design [B.Des] that aims at applying human-centered design and design thinking . Offered as a 4-year full-time program, this course helps students learn design thinking, user research, prototyping, interface design, social innovation, sustainability among other. Students design solutions to problems using the principles of human-centered design in sectors of health, education, impact, and even the environment.
The entrance exams that are considered for entry into B.Des Human Centered Design program varies by the university, but includes NID DAT, CEED, NIFT, NATA, and UCEED. Some institutes may also take class 12 scores into account as well as the students’ performance in exams. The UCEED score is valid for admission in the B.Des programme in the IITs and other first rank institutions in the field of design.

1. Pass in 10+2 in any discipline – Science, Commerce or Arts with minimum 50% aggregate.
2. Passing marks in University level creative aptitude test (UCEED), National level design aptitude test (NID DAT), Post Graduate entrance examination in design (CEED), National Institute of fashion technology (NIFT) etc.
3. For UCEED – There is no upper age bar to appear for the test. In NID DAT – age limit is upper age limit is 20 years for the GEN category.
4. The following skills: creativity, drawing and communication, analysis and visual perception.
5. Able to recognize color combinations, proportions measures, forms, and responding to people and society.
6. The desire to solve complex problems through design, the eagerness to comprehend users.
