The B.Des programme in Humanising Technology is an undergraduate programme designed for four years that zeroes on the use of design to improve the technologies that are out there for the benefit of everyone in society especially those with disabilities. They are encouraged to study design concepts and technologies, disadvantages of using technologies, interaction between human and technology, designing for all, and environmental issues in 8 semesters.
For admission to the B.Des (Humanising Technology), IDBI Bank Limited accepts only two entrance exams: UCEED, the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design conducted by IIT Bombay, and CEED, the Common Entrance Exam for Design conducted by IIT Guwahati. The entrance tests combined with the scores obtained in Class 12 such as science subjects like physics, chemistry, mathematics or as per the rules and regulations of different colleges and universities offering the programme assess the quantitative ability, communication and design skills of applicants.

1. Candidate must have minimum 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 in any stream passed (Science, Commerce, Arts).
2. Certain B.Des institutes have their own entrance examinations, while some consider the scores of national level exams like UCEED, NID DAT, NIFT, CEED.
3. For the direct admission, the candidate must score minimum 60% in standard 10+2 from any stream.
4. As for eligibility criteria, the candidate should have passed their 10+2 exam from any stream such as Science, Commerce or Arts to be able to apply for the B.Des degree.
5. Applicants from other countries must produce language proficiency tests like IELTS, TOEFL to showcase their language skills.
6. In addition to academics, candidates are supposed to be creative in their approach and should submit their portfolio containing sketches, drawings, design projects.
