B.Des in Interior Design is an undergraduate design course with a duration of four academic years that has a focus of several aspects on spatial and environmental design of interior spaces. It will also seek to equip the participants with knowledge in such fields as furniture design, lighting, colouring, application of the materials among others which are applicable in residential as well as commercial buildings. A detailed curriculum which encompasses design theory, building technology and services, ergonomics and graphic skills with regard to presentation of designs is offered in the four year program. 

For a student planning to get admission for B.Des. from the top design colleges of the country. This means that for students aspiring to be in Interior Design program, they have to sit and pass relevant design entrance exams. NAT examination organized by NIFT and UCEED examination organized by IIT Bombay are the most recognized and standardized tests among all. In addition to these tests, there are some colleges such as MIT Institute of Design, Pearl Academy.

BDes Interior Design Course Eligibility 2024

1. Candidates having 10+2 pass certificate in Science, Commerce, Arts and having a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

2. The candidate must be a clear pass in national/state entrance examinations such as NATA, CEED, UCEED etc. 

3. The students from any stream be it science, arts or commerce can apply.
