BFTech is an undergraduate course that deals with the concepts of fashion design, designing of clothes, fashion illustrations, pattern making, garment construction, draping and computer aided designing and Fashion technology textiles. The duration of BFTech course is four years and is comprised of eight semesters throughout the completion of the program. They come to understand the process of conceptualization of a garment, design process, manufacturing process, marketing and merchandising of garments and accessories.
The entrance examinations that are recognised for entry to Bachelor of Fashion Design and Technology offered by several institutions include NIFT, NID, CEED, NPAT by NMIMS University, UCEED by IITs. Certain colleges also take into consideration performance in the class 12th exam for admission purposes.
