BFS stands for Bachelor of Fashion Studies and it is an undergraduate course related to fashion that covers both the business and creative sides of the fashion industry. Depending on the course of study, this degree takes up to 3 years to offer the following courses: fashion design principles, apparel production management, fashion and communication, world costumes and textile, retail management, and consumer behavior.
The following entrance tests are taken for admission to the BFS program; NIFT, NID and the other tests are the CET and other state level tests. The candidates need to pass the written examination and have to appear for situation test and personal interview tests organized by the institutes and universities. Apart from the percentage obtained in the 12th exams, importance is also given to the creativity, general knowledge, spoken & written English proficiency, and passion towards fashion industry. Apart from a valid UCEED score, CEED examination score is also used at occasions for admission into good design college.

1. Candidate should be a 10+2 pass in any field of study that is Science, Commerce, Arts with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board.
2. Basic Math is one of the compulsory subjects in 10+2 stream. Commerce Stream – Mathematics/ Business Mathematics are required by the applicants.
3. Candidates who passed 10+2 exam can also apply for the post of PGT Computer Science. It will be depended on the minimum admission requirements needed for the student to be admitted into the program.
4. They allow applicants to enroll at any age they want without restricting the age of their students. There is no restriction on the age factor and any candidate who is having requisite qualification.
5. Interest displayed in sketching, design sense, and fashion consciousness are considered during admission for admission in this course.
6. Admission is given based on the 10+2 marks, conducted test, group discussion and personal interview to judge the ability, innovative thinking and fluency of the candidate.
