BFSc stands for Bachelor of Fisheries Science and is an undergraduate program where the students are taught about the science and economic aspects of fishing, farming of fish and fish products industries. The 3-4 year degree expose the students to subjects such as ichthyology, limnology, aquaculture engineering, fishing craft technology, post harvest technology, microbiology and biochemistry. There is knowledge imparted on aspects such as sustainable fishing, fishery resources management, sustaining the aquatic habitat, and fishing business.
The tests accepted for admission to BFSc programs include NEET UG, state level tests like Odisha JEE Main, AUAT in Andhra Pradesh and tests of agricultural or veterinary universities.
