Environmental Science and Ecology is an under-graduate program referred to as Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science and Ecology and it takes three years where students’ get to study the natural environment and the interaction between living organisms and their immediate or any surrounding environment. Offering different courses such as ecology, environmental chemistry, pollution control, natural resource and environmental conservation, environmental impact assessment, etc, the course is completed in three years comprising six semesters. They require carrying out required curriculum courses plus some others of their choice. Some institutes also provide flexibility in terms of group of subjects that a student can choose in his elective. This exposure was made to ensure that the curriculum offered included both the theoretical courses as well as the practical courses in environmental matters.
The common entrance exams for the admission to the B.Sc course. Environmental science, Cuet, state level examination and university level examination are the programs offered. Quantitative aptitude examination pattern including logical reasoning test plus general know-how of the environment and ecology. Some important dates worth noting when applying for undergraduate programs includes – CUET registrations are open in March-April with the exam taking place in July while state exams registration is usually in April-May and the exams are usually in May-June meanwhile private universities have rolling admission deadlines which vary depending on the institutions. Many institutes announce their cut off and start the process of counselling for the admissions to under graduate courses by July each year after declaration of 12th board results.
