B.Sc Genetics is an undergraduate program which requires three years to complete where students study genes, genetic variation, heredity and the use of genetic analysis and therapeutic interventions. This is a 3 – year, full – time course that has modules such as cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, immunology cytogenetics, population & evolutionary genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, and genetic engineering.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Under Graduate commonly known as NEET UG Exam; State or University level entrance test. Some of the colleges also provide the direct admission through merit list prepared according to the marks obtained in the 12th board examination. The minimum requirement for these UG Genetics programs is the completion of 12th Science stream (with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Maths / Biotechnology) with a minimum of 50- 60% marks.
