B.Sc in Hotel Management is an undergraduate degree program which takes three years with aims at offering training in different facets of hotel industry. Hospitality includes front office, house keeping, food production, food and beverage service, accounting, hospitality marketing and many other things which are taught to the students. The courses consist of theory and practical lessons with the theoretical part being taught in class while the practical part is taught through internships at hotels.
The entrance tests that students can take and which are accepted by colleges for B.Sc Hotel Management admissions: NCHM JEE, IMU CET, UPSEE, OJEE, WBJEE. Food Craft Institute Admission Test (FCIAT) organized by NTA is another very popular test and is designed to measure reasoning & aptitude, numerical ability, general awareness & service aptitude. As is evident from the previous sections, the student’s performance in the said exams is recognized by the management college to provide admission to the B.Sc Hotel Management program.

1. Candidates must have passed 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board with at least 50% aggregate marks.
2. There is no restriction regarding the age, but candidates in the age group of 17-23 years are warmly welcomed.
3. English medium students must have passed English as one of the subjects in their 10+2 level.
4. Candidates must qualify the Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination conducted by National Council of Hotel Management and Tourism (NCHMCT) or any state level entrance examination.
5. Selection process in some institutes involves group discussion and the subsequent personal interview.

2. IHM Joint Entrance Examination - A test conducted for the purpose of admitting students to IHM joining institutes for BSc in hotel management.
3. UPES-HM: It stands for the University level entrance examination to get admission in BSc hotel management at UPES Dehradun.
4. MAHE-HM – Manipal University Exam which is conducted for admissions to BSc in Hotel Management.
5. BBA Entrance Exams – Some exams like the IPMAT also provide entry to BSc Hotel Management courses.
