B.Tech (Textile Technology) is a four year undergraduate course that deals with the study of textile science, fibres, yarns, fabrics and technology used in textile industries. Some of the areas of study covered by the curriculum are fibre science, yarn manufacturing, fabric manufacturing, textile and its testing, textile chemistry, garment manufacturing technology, quality control, and basic engineering principles. As part of their learning, students are trained on the theoretical concepts of converting fibres into finished fabrics and garments and the practical processes.
The following are some of the engineering entrance exams accepted for admission into the B.Tech Textile Technology programme across the universities: JEE Main, GATE, AMUEEE, UPSEE, TS EAMCET and WBJEE. It is also common that many institutes accept students depending on their performance in the 12th standard board examination. This makes the candidate fit to be admitted into the degree program based on his/her performance in these exams.
