Fashion technology is an Undergraduate course that covers the topics related to textiles as well as the designing and manufacturing of apparels, and it is called Bachelor of Textiles (B.Text). The length of B.Text Fashion Technology scholarly program is normally 3-4 years, which is split into 6-8 semesters. This course offers training in some aspects of garments production including fabrics, apparel designing software, patterns, apparel production, quality aspect, fashion merchandising, and retail.

1. Any candidate who has passed the 10+2 standard examination from any stream namely Science, Commerce or Arts with a minimum overall percentage of 50% can apply.
2. For other candidates, passing marks in 10+2 exam is mandatory while for SC/ST candidates, the requirement is 45% aggregate.
3. Mathematics as a subject up to class 10+2 level is compulsory for some B.Tech colleges.
4. Passing the entrance tests like NIFT, NID whichever is mandatory for the institute.
5. Meeting all the laid down eligibility requirements that other universities or institutes have placed in order to admit students to that program.
6. In some cases, the institutes may require the administration of personal interviews or aptitude tests before admission.
