Diploma in Automobile Technology is an Under Graduate level course/program in the field of Automobile Engineering /Technology. This subject-oriented course familiarizes students with concepts of automobile design and development and basic practicalities associated with testing, repairing and servicing vehicles ranging from cars, trucks, buses. The subjects covered in this course include automobile engineering, mechanical and electrical systems in vehicles, automobile engine designing and assembling, transmission systems, brakes system, automobile body engineering, automobile electronics.

The minimum requirement for entry into Diploma in Automobile Technology program is 10+2 pass and preferably the candidate should have done Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Some of the national level tests that can even pave way towards admission include LEEP which is lateral entry test, DET conducted by BCECE Board for diploma courses and All India Polytechnic Exam conducted by CBSE.

Diploma in Automobile Technology Course Eligibility 2024

1. Candidate must have passed 10th class examination from any recognized board with minimum 50% marks and Science and Maths as subjects. 

2. There is no restriction in terms of the discipline that the student should be pursuing, it can be commerce, arts, science or any stream for tenth standard students to apply.

3. There is no age restriction to join any class but it’s more appreciated if the age of the students is between 14-20 years. 

4. There might be certain medical fitness like good sight, no colour blindness etc.

5. Admission policies vary from one college to another, whereby some admits students based on 10th standard marks while other admit students based on an entrance test depending on the college’s policy.
