Diploma in Child Psychology is an undergraduate course of 1 – 2 years in which the students are involved in psychologically studying the behavior and mental processes of children. This course understands basic principles of child psychology such as motor, language, social and emotional development of children during different periods of child development from infancy to adolescence. Common topics presented normally encompass developmental, abnormal psychology, counseling, childhood psychopathology and how assessment of psychological aspects in children.
The eligibility criteria for pursuing Diploma in Child Psychology is a minimum 10+2 or undergraduate degree from any recognised board or university. There is no entrance test, which is compulsory to get into most of the institutes However few universities and colleges accept the scores of national or state level exams namely CUCET, CEED or NCHMCT JEE for the screening and admission process along with minimum marks criteria in the qualifying examination.

1. The candidate should have minimum 10+2 pass in any stream from a recognized board. Any student with credits in any field of study at the Grade 12 level may apply.
2. Contrary to previous times, colleges do not have a definite percentage below which students cannot be admitted. There are some colleges where students have to get fifty percent marks in 10+2 exams.
3. Even students studying in Class 12 can also come for walk-in-interview on a provisional basis. Their admission shall be given subject to passing class 12 after they have qualified.
4. While there are some institutions that administer entrance test for admissions there are others that do admit students based on their 10+2 results.
5. The applicants can join the course irrespective of gap between 10+2 and there is no age bar set for the admission. Another important group that can apply is the working professionals.
6. Foreign Nationals and NRIs have to meet other criteria decided by the College, which are normally passing 10+2 examination recognized by the College from any country.
