Diploma in First-Aid Treatment Course is an entry-level type of program that takes 3-6 months to complete and which offers the training on handling emergencies and giving first aid and medical treatment. Areas taught include human form and function, how to handle injuries including fractures, burn, bite, wound, poisoning, heart attack, and skills that include cardio pulmonary resuscitation, bandaging among others use of simple medical equipment.

As much as admission into Diploma in First-Aid Treatment program is concerned there are no standard entrance exams as one of the requirements. Any candidate who has passed his/ her 10 + 2 examination or any equivalent examination from a recognized board is eligible for the examination. Certain institutes admit students and select them based on the scores obtained in the qualifying examinations which includes 10+2 or an aptitude examination which is conducted by the particular institute.

1. Pass out in the 10th standard or any equivalent examination from a recognized and prestigious board. 

2. Should not be less than 18 years in age, as this is the minimum age requirement in order to apply for the course. 

3. Should produce a valid ID proof like Aadhar card, driving license etc as issued by the government.

4. Invalidity: Should not have any significant health complications or disabilities that can hinder first aid services delivery.

5. Should be willing to work in shifts/rounds the clock if they secure a job after course completion.

6. Some important communication skills needed to complete the training include: verbal and written communication comprehensively.
