Diploma in Gerontology is a diploma level one year course that deals with the study of gerontology and involves aspects of aging and care giving. The program offers clear view of geriatric care paradigm and prepares students to handle all the medical, emotional and social aspects that concern the elderly. The course usually includes physiology of aging, psychology of mature and old age, sociology of elderly, diseases in old age nutrition for the elderly and therapeutic care for elderly people.
There are no entry requirements for entry to Diploma in Gerontology program and it is opened for all students based on performance. Candidates should have cleared 10+2 from any recognized board in the country with a minimum of 50% average marks.
