Diploma in Mechatronics is a diploma level course which takes 3 years to complete for a candidate and is related to mechatronics engineering. Mechatronics is a discipline that combines mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer and control engineering in the development of products and processes. The diploma course offers training in areas such as instrumentation, control and automation, robotics, PLC, CAD/CAM, in order to produce skilled technicians for manufacturing industries, automation industries, aerospace, automobile industries.
The entrance exams recognized for admission to the Diploma in Mechatronics course include 10+2 PCM qualification from a recognized board. Some institutes also prefer ITI qualification or lateral entry for students who passed class 12th PCM subjects. Some of the colleges also have their own institute level examinations for admission or for specific courses. Minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) /class 12 % aggregate required is between 40-50% based on the qualifying examination.
