Diploma in Psychology is an academic one to two years diploma course that one can pursue in the field of psychology. It is an introduction to the subject and its primary focus is to establish a means of predicting and explaining thought process and actions. The time required to complete a Diploma in Psychology program varies and can take one year for full-time and two years for part-time. The following are courses offered in the curriculum; Introduction to Psychology, Developmental psychology, Social psychology, Abnormal psychology, Counselling theories and Psychological assessment tests.

Major entrance examinations for the admission in diploma in psychology course are national level examinations such as 12th Board examinations in Humanities stream with an important emphasis on Psychology or in Science stream with Psychology as subject, Management Aptitude Test (MAT) and Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET). Apart from the tests conducted by other agencies, some colleges also have their own entrance tests.

Diploma in Psychology Course Eligibility 2024

1. A minimum of 10+2 pass in any stream recognized from a board is required and the candidate must secure a minimum of 50% marks. 

2. Finally, for the students pursuing class 12, they can also apply and this has no string attached to 10+2 examination results currently being conducted. 

3. The course is open to all age people and there is no restricted age limit that one has to meet in other courses. 

4. This is so because all teaching is in English and thus the ability to speak, read, write and understand English is mandatory.

5. Must have a passion for observing people and ideas about their behavior in the social and psychological sense. 

6. Another important requirement is good observation and communication skills which are essential for practical training.
