Diploma in Public Relations is a one to two year diploma program offered for students who wish to make a career in public relation. This course is intended to give practical experience in different spheres of PR such as media relations, emergency management, event management, business communication, and image management. It exposes students to core competencies such as communication, research, writing press releases media kits, PR campaign among others. The curriculum comprises of subjects such as principles of PR, writing for media, PR laws and ethical consideration, PR-strategies, reputation and branding management, crisis communication and many more. Projects, Industrial visits and Internship: The students also choose projects, industrial visits, and internships as a part of the course.
The minimum requirement for admission in Diploma in Public Relations is 10+2, that is, Successful completion of standard X and a higher secondary examination. Most institutions have their own exams which they administer to students who wish to be admitted to their institutions. Universities like IP university, Delhi university, other north Indian University’s like Punjab university, Rajasthan university, Kurukshetra university, MD university also consider CET scores of the respective states In addition, institutes that accept national level entrance test accepts scores of ATMA, XAT, MAT, CMAT, which test verbal ability, logical reasoning and aptitude which are essential for public relation career. It may also be a necessity to present a work experience in PR or any related fields in some colleges.
