Reporting & Editing is a diploma level course that takes one year and it is designed with the primary goal of training students into various fields of reporting and editing in the media. The program offer a clear perspective of concepts of journalism including news reporting, writing, subediting, media law and regulations. The programme usually takes 12 months and it has two semesters each of 6 months in a year. 

The admission procedure for the Diploma in Reporting & Editing programs include XAT, CMAT, CAT, MAT, ATMA, state level entrance tests. The education pattern and diploma courses admissions also play a role in the selection criteria where some colleges also have the qualifying examination score of the candidates such as 12th/HSC and other tests. Besides, some of the colleges have their own aptitude tests along with the group discussions and interviews to select the candidates at the final stages of admission.

Diploma in Reporting & Editing Course Eligibility 2024

1. A candidate must have a 10+2 pass in any stream from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks. 

2. Candidates graduating in any field can also apply. 

3. Communication skills and proficiency in writing are important qualities that applicants should possess. 

4. The aspiring candidate must have some computer literacy. 

5. This is not common but some institutes may put age limits on students they admit to their institutes depending on their intakes. 

6. Working experience in media, Journalist, publishing house etc is not compulsory but may be preferred by some institutes.
