The duration of the course is1 year and the course offers training for different concepts such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL for designing and developing dynamic website. Students are taught on how to design website for mobile devices, integrating multimedia content, constructing web applications, web services and business sites. The major principles of the curriculum are based on projects that will be completed during the course of studying to create a portfolio.
There are no mandatory national level entrance exams required for taking admission in Diploma in Website Development. Institutes consider the candidate’s academic record of 10+2 or equivalent examination as the minimum qualification for admission. Certain institutions have their own aptitude test which consist of questions related to programming and Logical reasoning. In line with the UGC’s recommendations, the National Testing Agency has been tasked with holding the Common Entrance Test for admission to diploma courses in various fields, including Information Technology and Computer Applications.

1. A candidate passed in 10+2 examination in any group from a recognized board.
2. One must have basic knowledge of computers and internet to attend this course.

2. CUET – Common University Entrance Test for admission to Under Graduate courses including BCA, BSc IT which includes web site development
3. UPSEE – Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination holds examinations for offering admissions to diploma courses needed for computer science and engineering including website development.
4. UP Polytechnic exam for Admission to Diploma courses is conducted by Joint Entrance Examination Council known as JEECUP which includes website design and development.
5. OJEE - Odisha Joint Entrance Examination needed for admission in diploma courses in IT and computer science including web design
