The Fellowship in Paediatric Emergency Medicine or FPEM is a two-year postgraduate medical programme that is aimed at preparing clinicians to handle children with acute and emergency conditions. FPEM is set to offer postgraduate education in paediatric emergency medicine to equip the doctors with skills in handling of children emergency cases. The areas covered as part of the training on this course are Paediatric Advanced Life Support, trauma, toxicology, respiratory emergencies, Neonatal Resuscitation, paediatric surgery and procedures, emergency radiology and research.
The entry assessments recognized for entry in to FPEM course include National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduate (NEET-PG) for MD/MS and Diploma in National Board Central Entrance Test (DNB CET) for DNB. One can apply for this fellowship program after having passed one of the two national level entrance tests in India and after having successfully completed their postgraduate degree in Paediatrics or Emergency Medicine.
